SSH and SFTP

Save your servers, open a terminal on them, and work with their files.

This works in the desktop app only. The browser version of Termul does not show SSH hosts.

Termul can open a terminal on a remote server over SSH. SSH is the standard way to sign in to a server from your computer. Save a server once as a host, then connect to it with one click. While you are connected, you can also browse, upload, download, and edit the server's files.

Find SSH in the app

The SSH hosts live in two places:

  • In the sidebar. When the sidebar is expanded, the SSH section sits under your projects. Click the chevron next to SSH to collapse or expand it.
  • In the narrow rail. When the sidebar is collapsed, click the SSH hosts icon to open the host list.

Click Open SSH hosts in the SSH section to open the full SSH workspace. It has a Hosts tab with all your saved hosts, and one tab for each open session. To go back to your projects, click a project in the sidebar. Your SSH sessions keep running in the background.
